Janina Finlayson, MA Can.
Counselling Intern
I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe.
I work with adults, couples, families, and groups, supporting clients as they navigate the challenges of life. This could mean healing from the past, strengthening relationships, or reconnecting with parts that feel lost. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, I aim to meet clients where they are and work alongside them to create meaningful and sustainable change.
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, building on my Bachelor of Human Ecology with a focus in Family Social Sciences. This shaped my belief that our well-being is deeply connected to the systems, relationships, and communities that surround us. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, and self-esteem concerns. I strive to help clients build clarity and trust. I draw from evidence-informed practices and a client-centred approach. I place emphasis on empowerment, emotional safety, and genuine human connection.
In our work together, you can expect warmth, curiosity, and a space where you are welcome. My goal is to help you uncover your inner resilience, expand your possibilities, and move into a life that feels more whole.
