Individual, Couple and Family Counselling

We are proud of our team of professional counsellors. They all hold a Masters degree or higher and adhere to the highest ethical standards.

We offer services in-person, virtually, and over the phone.

Child Therapy

Sarah and Jean offer various forms of child psychotherapy including play therapy and sand tray therapy.

Coaching

Life Coaching is solution-focused and result-oriented. It is designed to help with planning for the future, setting goals and attaining success by implementing the plan.

Session Payment and Cancellation Policies

​Payment can be made via e-transfer to contact@riverbendcounselling.ca. Please include your session date and you counsellor’s name in the message field. 

Payment can also be made using a credit card by phone to 204-444-4801 or in person using debit or credit at 1110 Henderson Highway

Because of the numerous services that we offer, and the various levels of coverage by insurance providers, we do not offer direct billing. Your counsellor can provide you with a paid invoice of your services which can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement, if eligible.

We require a minimum of 24-hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of appointment) or no-shows may be subject to a fee at the discretion of your counsellor.

Anger Management

Group Format. 

  • One, 7 hour group session. Facilitated Mark Westman, MA., this intensive is recognized in the Manitoba Courts. This program open to individuals looking to improve their anger responses, as well as to individuals mandated by their employer or the judicial system.

  • This program is offered on Saturdays, once per month. Please inquire about upcoming session dates.

  • One, 15-minute phone call is required prior to registration in the course to ensure it is right for you

  • Each client receives a certificate of completion plus a referral letter.

Total Cost: $560 + GST

Individual Anger Management course 

  • Course material is specifically applied to the individuals personal situation and unique needs.

  • Completed in 6 one-hour sessions, Like our group course, each client receives a certificate of completion plus a referral letter. 

  • Flexible scheduling. Can be scheduled with most counsellors. 

Total Cost: $840 +GST ($140 + GST per one-hour session).

Couple’s Anger Management Course

As anger management skills can be directly impacted by a partner, many couples choose to participate in the program together to increase the benefits of the course. 

Couples can expect to discuss how each member of the couple contributes to the conflict cycle. We find that this allows for mutual growth and understanding and quicker resolution to the inevitable conflicts that arise in intimate relationships.

  • Completed in 6 one-hour sessions

Total Cost: $960 +GST ($160 + GST per one-hour session).

Intensives for Individuals, Couples or Families

Sometimes one hour just isn’t enough. For deeper work, we offer intensive sessions, or longer appointments designed to give you the time and space to really work through what’s going on.
 

These are especially helpful for couples, families, or anyone facing more complex challenges. Sessions can be three hours or longer, even spread over one to three days if needed. We also offer lower hourly rates for these extended sessions.

Sex Offender Rehab And Maintenance Program ("Sex Off-RAMP")

This out-patient program is for individuals seeking a safe environment to connect with others, stepping out of isolation, taking responsibility for their behaviour. This program is designed for individuals who are motivated to live according to the principles of restorative justice and healthy societal norms. 

 

Goals of treatment are to: 

  • Accept responsibility for behaviours 

  • Develop awareness and understanding of consequences 

  • Engage in healthy relationships 

  • Protect the community from harm and to prevent further victims 

  • Live according to appropriate expectations and boundaries 

  • Subscribe to relapse prevention strategies
